Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival

About

Films do not need to be high budget action films! Any film depicting the adventure and spirit of the mountains or of nature will be considered. All films selected for screening are automatically entered into the competition for the 'Best Film Award'. Only 20-25 films are screened.

Film competition: fiction and documentary.

Awards

• Prize for the Tiso 'Best Film' Award: £250;
• Prize for the Alien Rock Best Short Film: £150; 
• Prize for the People's Choice Award.

Rules

Restirctions

• Films can focus on any aspect of mountain life and culture, wilderness and adventure, and can be documentary or fiction;
• There is no minimum length for films;
• Alien Rock Best Short Film (must be less than 15 mins).

Documents and Other Requisite Items

• Send request for the entry form to the festival;
• Fill out entry form;
• Films should be initially submitted on DVD, on digital files or via a link to private Vimeo or youtube page.
