About

Documenta Madrid is an international film festival dedicated exclusively to documentary film. The festival was born for the purpose of strengthening and disseminating the documentary genre, in so far as it understood to be a reflection of the social, cultural, economic, artistic, environmental, and other realities that exist in the world. Organizers dedicate our attention equally to three general blocks of activities: screenings (in both public and private screening rooms, and conserving the original language and formats), parallel activities (publications, exhibitions, presentations, gatherings, round tables, DVD releases, etc.), and training activities (conferences, instructional classes, workshops, etc.).

Awards

• 3 Jury’s Prizes for feature film, consisting of €10 000 and a trophy.
• 3 Jury’s Prizes for short film, consisting of €5000 and a trophy.

Audience awards:

• Best Feature Film’s Cineteca Madrid Audience Award, consisting of 5000€ and the film premiere at Cineteca.
• Best Short Film’s Cineteca Madrid Audience Award, consisting of 2500€ and the film premiere at Cineteca. 

Rules

• Works must be previously unreleased in Spain,
• All works submitted to the sections of the competition must have been completed after January 1st, 2023.

• DVD or other physical formats will not be accepted.
