About

Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital (EFF) is the world’s premiere showcase of environmental films. Through our annual festival, year-round programs, and online resources, we seek to advance public understanding of the environment through the power of film.

Awards

• Documentary Award for Environmental Advocacy: $10 000 cash prize
• William W. Warner Beautiful Swimmers Award: prize of $10 000
• Polly Krakora Award for Artistry in Film: $5000 cash prize
• Eric Moe Sustainability Film Award: $5000 cash prize 

Rules

• EFF accepts films in any genre, with themes related to the natural and built environment.
• EFF is primarily a platform for showcasing the best new environmental films, with a strong preference for films completed after January 2023.
• DCEFF does not have a formal premiere requirement, but does take the film’s exposure into consideration when making final decisions.
• Non-English language film submissions must include embedded English subtitles.
• DCEFF prefers an online screener submitted through FilmFreeway.
