Showcasing filmmaking talent, bringing worthy filmmakers to regional and national attention. CFF seeks to represent the most innovative and adventurous developments in filmmaking. It is especially interested in filmmakers whose short films manifest stylistic boldness, strength of form, and the ambition to use the medium in a way that resists cliché.

Awards

The top percentage of filmmakers in each category will have their work screened at Cornwall Film Festival events in cinemas across the county. The winner of each category will win a Delabole Slate trophy at a festival award ceremony.

Rules

• All submitted films should be no more than 12 months old by July 2023
• Please ensure that the digital video file you’re entering is the highest quality copy of your film. All work should be summited through the online platform, no work will be considered if not summited via this platform.
• CFF is particularly interested in new work but films do not need to be UK premieres.
• Films that have previously been publicly screened, broadcast or otherwise made publicly available (including online) in Britain will be considered. We will accept Short animation films that have had public theatrical screenings. 
• Films that are available to purchase on online are not eligible. This includes DVD/Blu-ray/VHS formats.
• Promotional films are eligible (e.g. films promoting tourism, charitable appeals, see the categories).
