About

CINANIMA – INTERNATIONAL ANIMATED FILM FESTIVAL OF ESPINHO has the aim of: promoting of the animation cinema in Portugal, aiming to conquer new audiences, encouraging the exchange of experiences among professionals and between them and the audience and call the distributors’ and TV networks’ attention towards the author animation cinema.

Awards

International competition:

• Grand prize «Cinanima» — Short Films,
• Jury's special prize 
• Award for the best film in each sub-category (short films)
• Award honorable mention in each of these categories
• Audience award
• Grand Prize «Cinanima 2017» — Feature Films
• Grand Prize «Cinanima 2017» — Graduation and/ or School Films

National competition:

• Prize Antonio Gaio  – Best Film in National Competition,
• Prize for young portuguese director

Rules

• The Organizing Committee will only accept films that have been finished after the 1st of January 2023 and that haven’t been sent for Pre-Selection in previous editions of the Festival
• Animation has to represent over 70% of the film
• Only final versions of the films will be accepted. Works in progress will be rejected

Documents and Other Requisite Items

• Film registration is uniquely made online at http://www.cinanima.pt;
• Send DVD with submitted film by post or by Internet;
• Send following documents:
  • Three frames of the film in JPEG, 300 dpi
  • Photo of the director, in JPEG, 300 dpi
  • Brief biography of the director
  • List of dialogues and/ or narration in Portuguese and/ or English in a .srt file with timecode

Selection Media Type: AVI, MPEG or MOV, codec: h264 or Apple ProRES, DVD

Screening Media Type: DVD, Blu-ray, AVI, MOV, MPEG

Subtitles language: English
