I didn’t come to documentary right away. I got psychological education first and was working in that field for several years. Then I came to work on television, made my first documentary there, and realized that that was the exact thing I’d like to do. I took higher courses in VGIK (Russian State University of Cinematography), workshop of documentary and advertising film. Exploration of human soul is the main thing I’m interested in cinema. I am attracted to stories connected with difficult social conditions and transformation of reality in the human psyche.
"Neftegorsk: 20 years of silence"
This film is about a person who is unique to the present. The representative of the ancient people found an amazing balance between the life of his ancestors and modern life. He remains active and "alive” in difficult conditions. He doesn’t complain about fate, he just works very hard. He has no equals in fishing skills. He is experiencing some kind of absolutely unity with nature, he doesn’t fight with it. His family consists of three dogs and two cats and there’s no one closer.
