Egor Baranov, born in Ekaterinburg, graduated with honours from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. His mentor at the Institute was Sergey Solovyov, a celebrated Russian director awarded with the prizes of Venice and Berlin film festivals. Creator of the Fartsa show, young director Egor Baranov is one of the few Russian film directors to have sold their projects to Netflix, a biggest online distributing company.
