About
Taichung International Animation Festival (TIAF) is organized by Taichung Film Development Foundation (TFDF) with the support of the Information Bureau of Taichung City Government. TIAF is the only city film festival in Taiwan that features solely animation. Founded in 2015, TIAF has established itself as a major international animation festival, popular among moviegoers and animators, domestic and abroad alike. The Short Film Competition is launched by TFDF in 2017, and with awards totaling TWD 1.35 million (approx.43,000USD) this year, a draw to global filmmakers as well as encouragement for Taiwanese filmmakers to submit their innovative projects. The 9th edition of TIAF will be held in October 2023 in Taichung, Taiwan.

Jury and Organizers
The official films will be selected by TFDF in collaboration with a selection of professionals and academics from domestic and international animation experts. The review process consists of a preliminary and a final review.

for non-student In order to submit a "Taiwan Short Film" or "Taiwan Student Short Film", the director must be a national of Taiwan with a valid ID, or more than half of the production costs must be from Taiwan, or more than half of the production staff must be Taiwan (R.O.C.) nationals with a valid ID national.
