About

The Taiwan International Documentary Festival, TIDF, is one of the major professional platforms for documentaries in Asia. The festival is looking for innovative documentaries with unique points of views which are relevant to social and human interests.

TIDF is a biannual festival that presents a well-curated programme of more than 130 films, and includes festival-related public and educational programs, such as Q&A sessions, workshops, and exhibitions. Each edition of TIDF attracts an audience of more than 25, 000.

Information on submission for 2020 TIDF Competition will be announced in summer 2019. 

Awards

International Competition:  

• Grand Prize: one winning title with a cash-prize of NT$400,000 (approximately US$13,500) and a TIDF award.
• Merit Prize: one winning title with a cash-prize of NT$180,000 (approximately US$6,000) and a TIDF award.

Asian Competition: 

• Grand Prize: one winning title with a cash-prize of NT$400,000 (approximately US$13,500) and a TIDF award.
• Merit Prize: one winning title with a cash-prize of NT$180,000 (approximately US$6,000) and a TIDF award.
• Special Jury Prize: one winning title with a cash-prize of NT$45,000 (approximately US$1,500) and a TIDF award.

• Next Generation Award
• Audience Choice Awards

Rules

• Documentaries completed after December 1, 2021
• A Taiwan Premiere is required, except for Taiwan films.

Selection Media Type: online screener or DVD copy.

Screening Media Type: DCP, Blu-Ray, file HD. 

Subtitle language: English.
