WLG-X is a convergence of tech, design, film and music, bringing together the world’s most exciting innovators of creativity in Wellington, New Zealand – the world’s coolest (and Southern most) little capital. From tech geeks to film gurus, aspiring musicians to serial entrepreneurs, there is something for everyone at WLG-X: a revolutionary festival of creative collisions.

WLG-X is committed to diversity both in front of and behind the camera and a minimum of 51% of our films will be directed by women/non-cis persons.

This immersive film festival experience will be the second largest festival program in NZ and the largest single city film festival in the country. We are committed to 21st century trends in cinema and in addition to panels and talks about where cinema is headed, we will also be showcasing VR/AR, TV, and indie episodic content. Film venues range in size from 49 seats all the way up to 760 seats and will be spread throughout all of Wellington CBD. Over 400 speakers, presenters and industry representatives will be present.

Rules

1) There are no length restrictions for content, however WLG-X defines a short film as 40 minutes or less and a feature film 41 Minutes or more. Television content can be up to the first four episodes and indie episodic content can be considered as pilot episode, 30 minutes or less of content, and/or up to one hour of content.

2) Only films completed on or after March, 2018 will be considered.

3) If the film is not in English, then it must have hard coded English subtitles

4) Films must be a New Zealand premiere and not available for home viewing.
