Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival

International Film Festival.

About

Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival (PYIFF) was initiated by Chinese filmmaker Jia Zhangke and prestigious festival director Marco Müller.

With director Ang Lee's special authorization, PYIFF is named with a nod to his film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - the success of that remarkable film will urge us to be as vibrant and relevant as possible.

Our aims include a desire to see filmmakers and audiences receive the respect that they deserve. By supporting young directors' growth, we hope to inject new blood into the Chinese film industry. We would also like to see more communication and cooperation between Chinese and international filmmakers to provide more possibilities to the Chinese film industry.
