About

The name of the festival says it all — 20min|max film competition is open to all genres of shortfilm while only restriction is a maximum film duration of 20 minutes.

The festival encourages cinematic expressivity, autonomous formal style, impressive stories — ergo: artistic synthesis of direction, montage, sound and light will be presented and awarded.

• 20minmax Award — 2000 euro
• Youth Jury Award — 1000 euro
• Art & Experimental Award — 1000 euro
• Best short film comedy — 1000 euro
• Shorties Award – for young audience up to 12 — 500 euro
• Weird Award for weird, strange, alternative films — 333 euro

Rules

• For the competition 20minmax films of all genres can be submitted. They must not be longer than 20:00 minutes including front and end credits.
• Films completed after February 1st, 2021
• For the competition b/w monochrome films not longer than 20 minutes can be submitted. Films are considered to be monochrome if they are completely or almost completely monochrome.
• Films are to be submitted via the international internet platforms Filmfreeway.
• Subtitles language: English or German
