The «UV Studio» film company was founded by Vladimir Uglichin. All his life Vladimir Uglichin has combined business with his many creative enterprises. He graduated from Moscow State University (Philological Faculty) and worked as a Russian-language professor at The University of Aden (South Yemen). He founded his own construction company, which builds office-buildings and restores architectural monuments. He dedicates most of his time to writing and recording his own music and writing scripts for his future films. He has also studied at the New York Film Academy, specializing in Film Direction and Production.
In 2005 he began shooting films independently as a producer, director, scriptwriter and composer. His film company has released three full-length features — The Crown Of Thorns (2006), Love Follies (2008) and The Unknown Land (2010). All three films were made for television and belong to the same genre, which Vladimir Uglichin himself invented: philosophical comedies. In 2008 The Crown of Thorns won a Special Award from the Moscowbased LAW & SOCIETY International Festival of Detective Films and Television Programs on Law-Enforcement.
