Grigoriy Dobrygin is a Russian film actor and director. He was born on February 17, 1986 in Rybachiy, Vilyuchinsk, Kamchatskaya oblast. In 2010, Grigoriy graduated from The Russian University of Theatre Arts (GITIS), Oleg Kudryashov’s workshop. After he majored in acting he continued his education as a director. Grigoriy is best known for his roles in «Black Lightning», 2009, and «How I spent this summer», 2010. For his role in the movie «How I spent this summer», 2010, he was awarded a Berlinale Silver Bear (2010), a White Elephant Prize (2010) and a Golden Eagle Special Prize (2011). Recently Grigoriy started his international acting career playing in an Anton Corbijn's «A Most Wanted Man» and «Black sea» directed by Kevin McDonald where Grigoriy starred opposite William Defoe and Jude Law. In 2013 he debuted as a theater director with a play called «Servants’ room» at the Mayakovskiy Theather. The same year he made a debut short film which was awarded at the Kinotavr Festival. «Verpaskungen» is his second piece of work as a director, for this film Grigoriy was awarded by Special Mention Diploma as well as the «Elephant» prize by a guild of film experts and film critics at the Open Russian Film Festival «Kinotavr» in 2014.
