Igor Poplauhin graduated the Moscow School of New Cinema. He directed the short fictions “Calendar” (2018), “22” (2016). Participant of the competition programs of Cannes Film Festival (Cinéfondation), Montreal International Film Festival, SHNIT. The short feature “22” was shown in the Montreal Branch of the Goethe-Institut, in the Moscow Multimedia Art Museum as part of the “Night of arts”, in the Garage Museum.

The main character represents a social phenomenon known in Russia as “Zhdulya” from the Russian word “zhdat” - to wait. These women,often married with children,visit prisons on certain dates to spend time with prisoners. The men that they visit aren't people they know, mostly they're prisoners that they see for the first time.Is it some kind of perverted fetish or something more mysterious? It's a film about someone who escapes her own reality trying to fly away into realm unknown to her
