Biography

Yang Ge was born on September 7, 1988 in Beijing, China. At the age of 20 she came to Moscow for the first time and in 10 years she became the only well-known Chinese actress, singer and director in Russia. At 2014 she graduated in Actor of drama from Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (course of Sergei Soloviev). Since 2011 she has been starring in many successful shows and films such as "Flight Crew", "Matilda", "The Conquest of Siberia". Since 2013 she is part of "Gogol-Center" theater of Kirill Serebryannikov. In 2017 Yang Ge took part and was one of four finalists of the popular show "the Voice of Russia". Yang Ge's directorial debut "Nu" was released in April 2018. The film was in the program of the 40th Moscow International Film Festival. "Nu" brought its director the main prize of the festival Silver St. George. Yang Ge has decided to make her second movie " Trinity Sunday" in English. This film was released on the 24th of October 2019.

Directors Statement

It's my first short film. The whole production took just one week of COVID-19 isolation. We worked remotely as I stuck in Berlin and our cameramen Maria and Nina were in Moscow and Tbilisi. Nika made the color correction in Paris. Thanks to quarantine I learnt video editing and writing music for the film on my phone. The whole week we kept in touch with the film crew. It may seem that isolation is a catastrophe but actually everything is fine. We are now more humane and found new opportunities for self growth.
