Biography

The Magnitogorsk background manifested itself in his early documentary works: Gornovoy is a sincere and visually strong appeal to the texture of the ordinary everyday life of the plant. The project immediately made it to the top of Vimeo and was distributed to festivals around the world. Bakirov's approach is always about finding new ways to tell a story so that it does not have an expiration date but works in multiple symbolic dimensions. He adheres to the same principle when working with artists: visual not for the sake of visuals, but for the sake of a strong and relevant idea, transmitted by the image of the performer and his work. It is not so important whether this is expressed in a plot loop, as in the “Invisible” video for Husky, or in the contrast of nostalgic and absurd, as in Never Ever. This is all aimed at completely and by all means immersing the viewer in the story and conducting only an honest conversation with him, even in the era of "forced silence."
