Two are locked in the apartment on the eve of Victory Day. Where others see fireworks, they hear explosions and air raid alerts.
First, an idea came up: to film a military parade on Victory Day in Moscow not as a celebration, but as a real armed invasion. Then the heroine appeared, who lives in a room with windows on Tverskaya Street. She was ready to provide us with a location for filming, but first she asked: “Will you shoot me in your film?” It was embarrassing for me to refuse her, so at first I promised, and then I was terribly scared. What if I can't handle it? Then I asked a student of the theater institute, a romantic young man with a guitar (and part-time my cousin) to help me. Julia and Lesha met for the first time in the frame. They had never seen each other before. But something unusual began to happen between them. I began to watch them intently, almost forgetting the original plan. Thus, an unexpected depth appeared in the story, which I did not lay down initially. These two - so lively, foolish, real - even more set off the unnaturalness of what was happening outside, where the caterpillars of tanks once again spoiled the asphalt of a peaceful city. We shot this little film in three days, but after that it waited more than five years for the final cut. All the time it seemed that we were missing something very important. Clarity came after February 24, 2022. After that, not a single new frame was added to the film. Only a few sounds. For example, the sound of a drone flying or an air raid signal. But those few sounds changed everything.
