Was born in Moldova, was raised in Moscow. He is currently living in Berlin.
I have always been interested in the feeling of a crowd. That moment when a person or animal loses its individuality and passes into the general consciousness. The passing of that critical point. The lyrics have always resonated strongly with me, especially since of events in the Ukraine began. Where does this collective unconscious that is willing to kill and indulge in violence come from? Society was struck by the poison of hatred. I had known about kokpar for a long time, since my days at the institute. A friend of mine was making a documentary about it in Kazakhstan. Back then I was hooked on the story of a purely masculine game, where even the horses and the sporting equipment were masculine. Now the images were combined with the music and this clip was born. I like works at the intersection of the documentary genre and the staged genre. When you mix two realities that do not intersect in life, but in the editing something new is born.
