About

An oasis for both film lovers and filmmakers in the Southeast, the Florida Film Festival is an annual showcase for the best in American Independent and Foreign Cinema. This 10 day celebration of filmmakers and their art includes an American Independent Film Competition for features, docs, shorts, and animation, along with an International Showcase, Spotlight Films (those already with distribution),

Midnight Movies, Florida Student Works, Special Screenings,Tributes, Special Guests, Panels & Seminars, parties, and more. The programming is dominated however, by the American Independent Film Competition.

Rules

  • For international feature and short competition: Entries must have at least 51% funding from outside the U.S.
  • Films may not have been completed and/or publically screened prior to January 1, 2023.

Documents and required items:

  • Submit via Filmfreeway.
  • Films must be submitted for preview via a password protected VIMEO link, or on DVD (Region 1 Standard).
  • Entries MUST include a film synopsis and a complete cast/credits list. Maximum synopsis length is 150 words for features, 50 for shorts.
  • Hi-res stills (300 dpi, at least 3” X 5”) can be sent by disks on be provided via online link
