About

The Anchorage International Film Festival (AIFF) was founded in 2001 in order to bring independent and international films to Anchorage, and to showcase the quality independent films made in Alaska. Our mission is to develop, promote, and sustain a film festival that supports new media and independent film making in Alaska and around the world while enriching cultural and entertainment opportunities for Alaskans.

Awards

We honor the main categories with Golden Oosikar awards. The main categories include Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Short, Best Animation, Best Super Short, and Best Made In Alaska.

Documentary feature (non-fiction) film at least 55 minutes in length, but no longer than 120 minutes.

Documentary super short length (non-fiction) film at least 1:00 minute in length and no more than 9:59 minutes.

Documentary short length (non-fiction) film at least 10:00 minute in length and no more than 54:59 minutes.

Any film "Made in Alaska", in any category or genre, at least 1 minute in length, but no longer than 120 minutes.

Animated short film at least 10 minutes in length, but no longer than 54:59 minutes. Films submitted in any animation subcategory must be at least 50% animation.
