About
Founded in 1996, The Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) was the brainchild of local business and civic leaders who felt a film festival would offer an exciting cultural venue for the community, be a tremendous fundraiser for film and TV education and would also provide an excellent opportunity to introduce filmmakers to the area's resources.
The PBIFF celebrates both the history and the future of the film industry with seven days of world premieres, special events, seminars, feature, short films and documentaries. In 2003 PBIFF became a "Competitive" Festival; joining the ranks of other great film events such as: Sundance, Cannes, Toronto and Venice.

- Best Narrative Feature (a minimum $2000 cash prize)
- Best Documentary Feature (a minimum $2000 cash prize)
- Best Horror Feature (a minimum $2000 cash prize)
- Best Short Film (a minimum $2000 cash prize)
- People’s Choice Award for feature film ($2000)
Rules
- Projects must be a premiere in Palm Beach County and Broward County.
- Submissions are to be made via Filmfreeway (Blu-Ray,DVD NTSC, Secure Online Screener).
- Subtitles language: english
Premiere Requirements
Regional premiere required.

Horror Feature category is open to non-mainstream films of the macabre, supernatural, and fantasy nature. These can include ghosts, aliens, vampires, werewolves, demons, gore, torture, vicious animals, evil witches, monsters, zombies, cannibals, serial killers, and sexually explicit material. They should be greater than 40 minutes in length.
