Digital filmmaking technology gets cheaper every year, opening opportunities for budding auteurs with limited resources. Filmmaking tools that are cheap, simple and widely available (coupled with the collective knowledge of the internet) are driving fresh, unique and open approaches to cinema.

We are aiming to be at the forefront of this new wave of filmmakers with our new platform – the Mobile Motion Film Festival. MoMo provides a level playing field for filmmakers where talent, creativity and hard work counts more than budget and industry connections.

The Festival lasts just one day, but a day packed with thought provoking masterclasses as well as two screenings of the best films followed by an Award Ceremony.

Moreover the screenings will be streamed live via the Momo official website to allow everyone around the world to join us for the night and even help choose the winner of the Audience Choice Award.

Rules

The film must be shot entirely with a mobile device (smartphones, tablets, GoPro) in HD video.
DSLR, compact cameras or hybrid android cameras are not accepted.
Multiple mobile devices can be used, but no non mobile footage may be included.
Foreign productions are welcome in ANY LANGUAGE, but subtitles in German or English are mandatory (films in English or German don't need subtitles).
Any software to edit video and audio as well as colour correction or special effects is allowed.
Use of additional equipment (professional or home made) is allowed, including (but not limited to) external microphone, wide angle lens, lighting, tripod, broom handle, basmati cam.
Films must have full clearance for all content, including music.
No nudity, profanity, extreme violence or racist content is allowed.
