An old literature teacher lives alone in his apartment. Reads books, listens the culture news on the radio. Every day he calls up a friend from a distant city, recalls his youth and not particularly interested in the modern world. But once the world outside itself bursts into his house and completely turning his life around.
Directors Statement
This film is important to me, not only because of my personal attitude to the topic, but also because it is my debut. That's why, it is so important that there are people around who will share your views and go whith you to the end. I want to thank Aleksey German Jr. for his script. Elshan and Orkhan Gamzaev for financial support. Great actors and the whole crew. Unfortunately, Vladimir Petrovich Markov, who played the main role, like his charcter, was very upset about leaving the institute. He lived for his students. “If they fire me, I will die,” he said. On the sixth of February this year he passed away. I think he would be glad that now the audience has the opportunity to see our film on the public domain.
