A Film for Peace

International festival dedicated to films with Peace as their subject.

About

The festival, dedicated to the national monument Ara Pacis Mundi in Medea, is considered among the biggest film festivals in the world in the field of human rights and is characterized by the prestige of the locations such as the British Museum in London or the University of Cambridge in which parts of it have taken place in 2011 and 2012. The festival is open to films and documentaries of any length with peace and human rights as their subject.

Awards

  • The director of the winning film will receive the silver plaque and a cash prize of Euro 500.00.

The Festival also grants the following special awards on human rights:

  • Special Award “Water Rights” for the Best Film with a theme based on water rights, granted by a special jury;
  • Special Award for the Best Film Recommended for Schools, which will be awarded by a jury of university students;
  • Special Award for the Best Animated Short Film: Recommended for Primary Schools, awarded by the jury of the primary school network;
  • Special Award for the Best Film on Disarmament granted by a special jury;
  • Special Award for Best Film “From First World War to a Peaceful Future”, awarded by a special jury;
  • Award for the Best Film on Human Migration, which will be granted by a special jury.

Rules

The film, documentary or fiction, must focus on the theme of peace, wartime conflict, civil war, human rights or justice. The films dealing with other themes will not be admitted to the Festival or included in the catalogue.

Send by post to the festival's address:

  • a completed application form;
  • 2 copies of the film on DVD;
  • 1 or more photos (format .jpg, 300 dpi) from the competing film on CD-ROM,
  • Curriculum Vitae and bio-filmography of the Director.

The finalists who will be present at the award ceremony will be entitled to two-night accommodation at a hotel in the area.
