Film Festival.


The Rob Knox Film Festival is held annually in Bexley, London. in memory of the actor who played Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Its aims are to 

  • To raise the profile of positive behaviour by young people. 
  • To provide an opportunity for locally made films to reach a wider audience. 
  • To provide an opportunity for young people to see independent films from around the world, 
  • To provide learning opportunities for young filmmakers. 
  • To identify films that tackle social issues or that could be used in an educational context.

It consists of 9 days of film related activity culminating in an awards night at Cineworld, Bexleyheath, London.

  • Best Film under 5 minutes
  • Best Director
  • Best Screenplay
  • Best Actor
  • Best Actress.

Other potential categories might be Best Editing, Cinematography, best music video, best web series, best comedy, best social issue film, best documentary.
The awards are a crystal trophy and a certificate.


We accept all genres, and we accept films of all lengths. 

Submissions are to be made via Filmfreeway.

All other short films up to 30 minutes of length.

This category is aimed at feature films of between 80 minutes and 120 minutes. We will however accept any films that are over 30 minutes.

a short list of five films will be screened on the awards night and they will be subject to an audience vote. The film can be of any genre and previous years have included drama. comedy, music, dance, poetry, horror, zombies, rom com, sci-fi
