Years running: 25 (since 1997)
International Student Short Film Festival.
About
The objective of the festival is to arrange a meeting of young filmmakers, to introduce the work of local and international film schools, and to award films chosen for the competition by the international jury.
The festival's main goal is to prepare and offer viewers a remarkable competitive program that will be the platform for confrontation between student films of all genres (up to 30 minutes). The traditional participants of the festival have been addressed for this purpose.
We have been able to establish partnerships with a number of schools from these countries such as in the Dominican Republic, Finland, Indonesia, Israel, the United States of America, Uruguay and so on. The festival is not open only for its own purposes but includes the general public in festival events as well. Its goal does not lie simply in the practicality of including students from our schools in preparing the festival but also in the fulfilling the meaning of the word "international". The ISFF Písek offers visitors and filmmakers alike an opportunity to become acquainted with films of various cultures, each having its own distinct perspective. The festival is open to all countries and their beginner filmmakers who, like us, love film and want to share their work with us.
