About

Pelicam International Film Festival on Environment and People invites film directors, producers and distributors to register their films in one of the four competitions of the festival.

PELICAM International Film Festival is organized by Les Herbes Folles Association and is the only international film festival in Romania entirely focused on the environment.

The main purpose of PELICAM is gathering in one place the diversity of the best international film productions dedicated to the environment and promoting them, in order for the Romanian audience to discover the culture of other countries and also to enrich their cinematographic culture, in Tulcea and in Romania and to raise awareness to this film genre.

Awards

  • PELICAM Trophy - awarded to the best film in the Official Competition, in value of 2.000 Euros (goes to the director of the film).
  • Pelicam Best Short – awarded to the best short in the Shorts Competition, in value of 500 Euros net (goes to the director of the film).
  • Black Sea Docs Award: the prize is in post production services in value of 3.000 Euros at Cinelabs Romania, for the directors’ next film and 1000 Euros for the producer of the film. The film will also be Pelicam’s nomination for Green Film Network Award 2020.
  • Fresh Perspectives Award – for the best film in the Fresh Perspectives competition, in value of 500 de euro (goes to the director of the film).

Rules

In order to be eligible, the films submitted for one of the first four sections must fulfill the following requirements:

  • They must be produced (the date of first screening) after the January 1st, 2019 for Official and Shorts Competition, and after January 1st, 2018 for Black Sea Docs and Fresh Perspectives Competition.
  • They must be Romanian premieres, except the Romanian productions in the Black Sea section.
  • The films are screened exclusively on HD (Blu Ray, DVD video HD or HD file at 1080p).
  • The films must be screened in the original version with Romanian and English subtitles (if they are made in a language other than English). If a film is selected, the distributor/producer of the film must provide the festival with the English dialogue list.
