Rules

Restirctions

• Films must be longer than 1 minute and shorter than 6 minutes, including all credits;
• All films must tell a story; this excludes public service announcements, trailers, music videos, non-narrative experimental pieces, etc.;
• All genres and styles are accepted, including live action, documentaries, animation, drama, comedy, children’s films, science fiction, horror, LGBT, etc.;
• It is possible for more than one film by a filmmaker to be accepted. This would typically happen if the films are under two minutes and/or have significantly differing styles;
• For 2014, we prefer films completed in 2014 or 2015. Films completed in 2013 also be considered. Earlier films are ineligible.

Any of the following criteria are not mandatory, but may count against films in judging:

• Films under 2 minutes,
• Films from 2013,
• Films available publicly online,
• Films that have played extensively in the US (especially northeast).

For submission format, we prefer 1080p H.264 files (720p is acceptable). No DVD or DCP submissions, please.
