Madeira Film Festival

About

The Madeira Film Festival is Europe's most exclusive and independent festival and as the organisers call it, "The festival with the world's greatest view". Held at the prestigious Reid's Palace Hotel the Festival serves as a platform to showcase independent feature, short and documentary films from directors around the world. It evolved due to a need to recognize the Laurissilva forest, the 15,000 hectare indigenous 'living relic' which in 1999 was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Therefore special attention is payed to films pertaining to the environment and it's relevance and importance in the world we live in today.

Awards

All delegates attending will receive the 'Laurissilva Ambassador' award in recognition of Madeira's endemic forest thus helping to create awareness and conservation.

Rules

• Films made within the last 2 years.
• Festival accepts short films, up to 30 minutes. And feature films over 30 minutes. 

Documents and Other Requisite Items

• Pay submission fee,
• Send a note including the title of the film,
• Complete the online submission form,
• Include an online link to the film in the submission form or send two preview DVDs to the festival's address via regular mail.

Premiere Requirements

No premiere requirement
