Lola Kenya Screen (also known as Lola Kenya Children’s Screen) is an audiovisual media festival, skill-development programme and market for children and youth in eastern Africa. It has been presented by ComMattersKenya, a Kenyan company specialising in communication, mass media, arts, culture and development, since 2006.

Applied films are those By, With and For children and youth, i.e. they should starre ‘children and youth’, address ‘children and youth audience’ or ‘tackle ‘children and youth issues’.

All entries submitted must be suitable for children ages 13 and under, youth aged 14 − ­25 years, or family (25+).

The following material MUST be sent with the preview on DVD (NTSC/PAL formatted for multi­zone) clearly labelled with the title of production. (Each DVD must contain ONLY ONE production):

  1. Full list of cast and credits.
  2. English dialogue list.
  3. Customs declaration on the package stating the following: "FOR TEMPORARY USE ONLY. NO COMMERCIAL VALUE. FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY".
  4. Clearance of rights.
  5. Stills of the film in production.
  6. Photo of the director and the main cast.
  7. Synopsis or Summary in English.
  8. Signed and completed 2016 Entry Form (ONE ENTRY FORM PER film, video or episode). 
  9. A full­length preview DVD (formatted for multi­zone) of the entry, clearly labelled with title of production. Each DVD must contain ONLY ONE production.
  10. Production information, including cast and credits. 
  11. Director’s filmography, including years of production. 
  12. Brief biographies of producer, director, and principal actors.
  13. Two high­quality jpg images from the production (at least 300 dpi). These may be emailed to <> or sent by regular mail. 
  14. Director photo (at least 300 dpi jpg format). This may be emailed to <> or sent by regular mail. 
  15. Posters, press book, or other promotional materials, if available, may also be posted.
