In 2007 to honor the Andrey Tarkovsky 75–th anniversary the RF Ivanovo Oblast Government supported by the RF Presidential Administration, the RF Ministry of Culture, the RF Godfilmofond, The Russia Filmmakers Union set “Zerkalo” International Film Festival named after the great director.
The Festival organizing committee is headed by Mikhail Men, the Ivanovo Oblast Governor. Marina Tarkovsky, the director’s sister, is one of the inspirers and organizers of the movie forum. Since 2010 the Festival is headed by a Russian director, People’s Artist of Russia Pavel Lungin.
In 5 years period “Zerkalo” Festival managed to find a special place in modern cultural life in Ivanovo Oblast, in Russia and abroad. The Film Festival was attended during these years by outstanding filmmakers from Russia, America, Great Britain, France, Greece, Poland, Korea, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Iran, Iceland, Finland, Italy, Tajikistan, Georgia and other countries.
The saturated Festival program includes International Feature Film Competition, special screenings, retrospective screenings, animation, student movies. The Festival annually screens about 150 films, holds over 50 meetings with cinema-goers, its events encompass about 25000 persons.

“Zerkalo” Film Festival was established by Ivanovo Oblast Government (Ivanovo Oblast Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage), supported by the RF Presidential Administration, the RF State Duma, the RF Ministry of Culture, the Moscow Government and the Russia Filmmakers Union.
Film Director Pavel Lungin headed “Zerkalo” Film Festival in 2010.
